Billy Porter
William Ellis Porter II (geboren am 21. September 1969) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Sänger. Porter machte sich zunächst durch Auftritte am Broadway einen Namen, bevor er eine Solokarriere als Sänger und Schauspieler begann. Für seine Rolle der Lola in *Kinky Boots* gewann er 2013 den Tony Award als bester Hauptdarsteller in einem Musical, den Drama Desk Award sowie den Outer Critics Circle Award (jeweils für herausragende schauspielerische Leistungen in einem Musical). Er schreibt dieser Rolle zu, seine feminine Seite „freigelegt“ zu haben, sodass er sich mit toxischer Männlichkeit auseinandersetzen konnte. Zudem gewann Porter 2014 den Grammy Award für das beste Musical-Theater-Album (für das zum Musical gehörende Album).
